"Nothing in the World is so strong as a kind heart"- Burnett

Good Morning to all!!

Its the 29th of march 2012.. The Month of Hope is on an end and i must say it has been quite an eventful one .. needless to say frought with difficulties and difficult people and difficult situations to handle .. ENOUGH of the difficult difficult lemon difficlut ..lets ease it all up! :)

Well the past days have been eventful as I said, but more so they have made me realise so many things from beleiving in yourself, and also something very funny- that the moment we start acting confident, it just makes the other person pee in their pants (or skirt, for women! :P) but its strange how the world is like a dagger across your neck ..or rather an Albatross .. my tweets of this week has been about the adversity of living in a world which is bad, yet you uphold morals and a sound philosophy in your heart and somehow i still beleive that follwoing the path of the correct and the good and the just and the true is the one that i will follow through to the very end, NO MATTER if the world leaves you and you are the one left all by yourself ..

it just mkes me beleive that to join forces with the negative and the worst and the slanderous is the MOST EASIEST thing to do in this world.. it takes COURAGE and HUMAN REVOLUTION to do and to stand up for what is right.. my mentor has taught me that through his own example as also from the examples of Rosa Parks and Martin Luther King.

Also, through him i was exposed to the world of Edmond Dantes in the novel- Count of Monte Cristo that i so dearly love .. and so comes from my heart the gratitude towards my mentor and the philosophy that i uphold, leading to an even fiercer determination to prove the validity of the law in my life as also to prove it to myself that i am on the correctpath.

last night, i came across these lines- "How heartless is the transience of this world!" and it INDEED IS SO TRUE.. i wonder why human beings cannot realise this fact and stay in peace with each other ..

I also was told a day back that- "Time will tell that the sufferings were worth it".. powerful courage did well up in my heart confirming to myself yet again that I am on the right path and i should be proud of myself to go through, battle and raise the banner of vistory in my life.

there does come a time when we look back to see what we have done and what has happened was right or not, what others did to us and what we did to them was right to them or not, and it just comes to me that if we are good, if we uphold morals and if we are walking on the right path without hurting somebody else, or to even set the record straight for that matter, i will never doubt the path that i have chosen for myself..

right now i was listening to this song- Price Tag by JessieJ and i must say it was this song that made me come back to my blog today ..
she sings- "we want to make the world dance, forget  about the price tag ...why is everybody so obsessed,,money cant buy us happiness .. seems everybodys got a price, i wonder how they sleep at night..why is everybody so serious, acting so damn mysterious, you have shades on your eyes and heels so high that you cant even have a good time.. can you feel that yeah, we are playing with love* tonight"

{{*do read the last post on Larger>Life to know what i mean by love dated 2nd march 2012.}}

these lines really reverberate in my heart.. they really reconfirm to me that money or appearances are nothing but a death of a desire to accumulate the treasures of the heart and ones individuality respectively ... it also has made me again beleive that giving our life for the shallow will make our life EXACTLY JUST THAT- shallow and transient ...its so easy and fanciful to live in the fantasies of owning great things and being great people and going to great balls and parties, BUT TRUST ME true greatness lies in how many people have i been able to make them beleive in themselves, how many treasures have i accumulated in my heart, how many times have i used my head, my hands and my heart for the sake of others' happiness (this line is from the novel by Thomas Hardy- Tess of the D'Urbervilles).

also, yesterday was LadyGaga's birthday .. prejudices of others aside, i really respect the woman to have written an sung a song that topped the charts- BORN THIS WAY, i would call the song an Ode to Everyone on this planet.. her lines- "dont be a drag just be a queen, even if you are broke or evergreen" and "i am beautiful in my way, coz God makes no mistakes, i am on right track baby i was born this way" "we are all born superstars" and "dont hide yourself in regret, just love yourself and you are set" .. the most beautiful are the follwoing-

"whether life's disabilities
left you outcast, bullied or teased,
rejoice and love yorself today,
coz babay you were born this way"

her song still and i think forever will beat in my heart..

a friend of mine told me last night- there are two kinds of people in this world- those who do and those who talk. if both you are able to do, then you have raised a victory cheer for yourself staying true to your words and your ideals provong all thorugh your actions and for all to hear!

so today, i declare for all to hear, that in no matter what circumstances you find yourself in, just beleive in yourself and in the kindness of your heart, and never doubt the path that you have chose to walk upon.. just keep on pressing ahead even if people have scorn in their words and hate in their eyes, just be proud of yourself and your struggles and keep on doing what the right, the just and the true you think it to be.

the law of cause and effect is indeed strict and uncompromising, its an inevitable reality, one that faces everyone and from which nobody is spared, it is the law and rhythm of nature itself.. (i am reminded of what goes around, comes back around by Jsutin Timberlakes song)

beleive in the power of good, as Premchand has said that -good has not been lost in this wordl, just submerged in the reality of the calumnous, deceiving society we are living in ..
BE THE ONE TO HELP PEOPLE FIND THAT GOODNESS AGAIN THAT HAS BEEN SUBMERGED IN THE HARSH REALITIES OF TODAYS SOCIETY.

i wrote a day back on my twitter page that- "calumny, slander, lies and deception are a reality of the society we are living in. to be or not to be a part of it will alwys be an intricate choice you make, and thats where will lie the essential difference."

Good Morning to all again, and have  agreat great day ahead.. give that joy you possess as your treasure to someone else! :)

Larger > Life

Hello to all!

its the 2nd of march of 2012, and i just made my way to office and just had breakfast.. its a beautiful day, a beautiful feeling inside so much so that i can feel it in the depths of me ... i feel the sun is shining upon me ..!

Like always, my mother did brag about my clothes' choices and all,and how i donot care. but i so feel that no matter what one wears, it is the richness of the heart that matters. and also, that it does not even matter what one wears but a smile is for sure the best thing anybody can wear! :)
( by the way i am just 22 and still learning the ways of dressing up and all.. in that transition from a girl to a woman, and all that)

Of late, i had been thinking a lot about the ways of the world and people pleasing skills ( a topic that came through to discussion a few days back at work with a few oh-so-materialistic-brand hungry fellow interns) but the way the latter one is phrased is just so artificial! and for a fact it has never and shall never become a part of me. EVER.

So coming back to where i was, while I made my way to office, i was listening to 943 FM (of my god how much i love this new station called - INTERNATIONAL RADIO) and a song came that me and my cousins used to hear a lot when we were kids, no. teens precisely!

(there were so many artists that i as a kid used to listen to on casettes and every birthday there used to be a demand from papa to but me a new walkman and how in about a year they all used to get worn out or spoilt! these great people were Backstreet Boys, Celine Dion, Shania Twain, oh! Peter Andre, and Enrique Iglesias- a poster of his from his "Addicted" album that me and my sister got free from planet m when we bought his cassette is still there with me in absolutely good shape! .. i was marvelling today in the morning en route at the fact that how the songs of the 90s had an innocence about them.. they used to talk about promises of love, turn around and i will be two steps behind..when "Its my life" by Bon Jovi came, there was a smell of rebel in it and how we loved singing it at the top of our voices .. "That dont impress me much" by Shania Twain made us act like pricey women behind whom were so many guys- oh we loved to think likre that! ;) and FINALLY, the song that me and my sister loved a lot was - HERO By Enrique .. he he .. there is a smile already on my face when i am writitng about it ..and how these songs used to have words like "forever" and "always" and "love you" and starkly different to songs like "now now now" and "tonight"! !! makes me wonder the aspirations and thoughts that seem to signify a casual attitude towards love these days!)
COMING BACK TO WHERE I WAS!! (sorry!!)
This song was "Larger than Life: by Backstreet Boys! and the lyrics came through as-

"all you people cant you see cant you see
how your love is affecting our reality
everytime its down you can make it right
and that makes you larger than life"

as these lines were ringin' through my ears it just made so much sense that no matter how horrible the world is around you, its upto YOU to uphold that humanity in your heart or lose it. i felt to have listened to this song when i was growing up. but the feeling that inside me was- "thats how it has to be, thats how it had to be, thats how i had grown up and this was not how i ended up being".

That its just okay the way you are and if at all, somebody comes along the way and is glad enough to have found you that way, then you can say you've lived it all! and even if not, we ourselves are the greatest treasures, and its just so wonderful to just be alive and breathe and see the sun everyday and smile to all!!

so go ahead, give that "love" that the lyrics just spoke about .. you will see it "affect your reality" amazingly and you will realize that what you could not see, was something beautiful within your own self, and that was something larger >life!

Good Morning to all and do have a great day ahead all of you, each one of you, awesomre people out there! i must get to work now!

Gauri aka Heidi aka Tess
(the third i just thought now, from now on thats my pen name, the second was given by somebody dear to me, and the first is the christened one, given at birth!)

Telecom Fraud In India- The Option that the Government has

The latest controversy in the Indian Government, after the infamous CWG  and Adarsh Society Scam, has been dubbed as “the largest financial scam in free, independent India” as also the “most damaging corruption” scam of India. The scam, as we have all read in newspapers and criticized enough,  is centered on the allocation of the scarcely available 2G Spectrum, at throwaway, difficult to believe prices.

Accusing Union Telecom Minister A.Raja of orchestrating Rs 60,000-crore scam causing a deep dent on the Public Exchequer, the opposition parties -- Bharatiya Janata Party and Communist Party of India have asked the government to fire the minister and institute probe into the alleged irregularities in allotment of wireless radio spectrums and licenses to nine private operators in 2007.

The “checks and balances” as well as constitutionally justified ousting of a public servant has been the course adopted by Congress Government, reiterating the fact in the least, that not only individual citizens but public servants of a position of a Union Minister of any portfolio is not immune from liability under the garb of sovereign immunity, especially when the culpability is of a criminal wrong done- a wrong of misappropriation of funds.

The jurisprudential principles of “good governance”, and “responsibility in action”, are viewed as mere utopian and idealistic ideas having no relevance whatsoever, when such fraudulent activities come to the surface, and exposing everything that was hidden in the façade of honest, dignified and responsible public administration, where not just or only the babus or bureaucrats and other government officers, but people in as high positions as that of a Union Minister holding a portfolio under the Union Government are exposed with such flagrant exploitation of their positions, and not to forget, the enormous amount of money orchestrated.

A brief recapitulation of facts would throw light on what exactly had happened. The government had recommended an “open license regime” in 2007, thereby inviting applications till October 1 2007. Thereafter, all applications received between the time period of September 25 till October 1 2007 were rejected, while 25 September was fixed as an artificial cut off date. The licenses and spectrum allocation was then allotted to nine operators at Rs. 1650 Crores per operator, and  it was alleged that this price was not on the basis of the market value of 2007, but that so fixed on the basis of an auction of 2001.
However, interestingly the market value in the telecom sector pertaining to the allotment of licenses for spectrums had increased phenomenally in the 6 years from 2001 to 2007. Many critics have called this uncertain and changing state of affairs of 2007 as a “game” that began, and subsequently, when the game began, the rules had changed, comparing to what they were when the game had not begun.

Of course, the allegations have been denied at the outset by the Prime Minister of our country, and continuing forthwith, he has also enlightened the masses by expressing his “reluctance” in appointing A.Raja to the hold the telecom portfolio under the Union government. This has always been the best adopted strategy of the Congress Government constantly being in the state of culpability and then a state of denial and crafty scapegoat. Subsequently, the Congress Government entailed heavy revenue losses by allowing such spectrum licenses and their allotment trough this practice of under pricing.

As per the CBI investigations, it was been quite a revelation that the telecom ministry did not adopt an effective economic strategy of competitive bidding, but rather went in for ‘first come first serve’ approach, while allocating licenses to the operators, at an extremely uncompetitive market value of 2001 and fixing the cut off date to be September 2007 instead of October 1. This approach has been allegedly declared to be the brainchild of A.Raja. Raja, however, has denied all such allegations, and emphatically asserted that he took all decisions in accordance with the provisions of law, as per what his predecessors had done since 1993, without the involvement of any pressure from any external source whatsoever. He claims that the same was done by him for the purposes of extending the benefit of low costs to the consumers, when they avail the telecom services.

However, its important to point out that “auctioning is the best way to allocate spectrum as it is an invaluable natural resource. Auctioning would have ensured a clean and fair allocation process bringing in huge revenues for the public exchequer, which could have been utilized for further development of the telecom sector.”

It is now a question of what further action as a follow up needs to be taken. When the scam had hit Rajiv Gandhi Government, he had sacked the culpable officials of his Cabinet involved in the scam. However, our Prime Minister has simply ousted A Raja, which as a personal opinion is of a camouflaging and non effective kind. The deal is to either prove the corruption allegations, or later on see a smoking gun after a fire. True to form, while this season of scams has brought the legislature grinding to a halt, there is no sign that the government might fall. Moreover, with the next national election not scheduled until 2014, unless it loses a confidence vote the Congress will have more than enough time for damage control.

Now that debates are being raised regarding the constitution of a Joint Parliamentary Committee at the instance of the Opposition for starting an investigative probe, there is an increased need for proving or disproving allegations of fraud. The CBI in close coordination with the JPC, should be allowed to work independently in order to establish guilt without reasonable doubt of all those involved. Policy decisions are something which falls outside the ambit of criminal proceedings. And therefore the working after subsequent constitution of the JPC becomes ever more important. As a personal belief, I feel that the government has lost precious time in dealing with the issue. And as a matter of fact, our Prime Minister did know about the issue 3 years before.

The issue has become bigger than what it was before, due to the system, which allowed it to be manipulated in such a huge way. And in order to avert all the harm done, and to prevent it from further being exacerbated, its essential that the JPC and/or CBI probe be done with all resources, as soon as possible, to reach at some satisfactory yet revealing conclusion, that upholds the ideal of justice, i.e. to give a person his due share of rewards and punishment.

War, Peace, You, Me- Dream?

Nuclear law being a subject which really gets my mind to work, think and question, this post is just for all of us to think, as to where the real culprit lies..in some country, their people or somewhere else..??
The arms race today has been blown up to an unfathomable extent, rather i should say to an extent that even i cannot imagine. being just a student... time and again, there have been many excuses to peace, but i seek to know a few things ..
1. in a country's political realm, is achievement of war objectives more important than the lives of the individuals, or rather to say human rights..?
2. should people be sacrificed, the innocent lives be lost in the process of a country's journey to being on top of the international order..?
3. where is this desire to make, possess and use nuclear weapons stem from ..? well to this i have an answer- the nihilistic tendencies of various individuals to treat citizens of this earth as mere commodities or objects, or simply the fellows of the enemy nation.
4. why can't the cry of peace travel beyond boundaries..why should it stop at the border..?
5. what is the rationale to fight a war, acquire a territory or killing people when the law of cause and effect does prevail over the entire universe..?

Albert Einstein has said- i don't know with what weapons WW III is going to be fought, but WW IV will surely be fought with sticks and stones.

i very strongly feel that nuclear weapons be just destroyed from the face of this earth. the countries the world over must take actions or make policies, rather i should say follow their policies by putting them into action..a policy that calls for freezing of the nuclear weapons throughout the world for all countries.

i also think and feel, that each one of us, must really go beyond petty concerns and considerations of ethnic differences, religious affiliations, caste, creed, cultural distinctions, and view everybody inhabiting this earth as an individual, just like me. a girl in Afghanistan loves playing with barbie dolls as much as i did in my childhood, here in India..
a boy in Ohio loves playing football as much as another boy in Russia..

Life lasts no longer, than the exhaling of ones' breath awaits the drawing of another.. why can't we all live happily, together, equally ..??

an animal is more faithful than a human,
the goal of every human is to live and live long,
then why is this 'human' different from another 'human' in another country ?
why can't we humans be faithful to our own selves first, by believing in our own humanity, in our own goodness, compassion and kindness ?
why can't we humans give ourselves a chance to live..? and allow others to be happy doing the same..?
why doesn't the conscience of violent people lead to an awesome guilt in their hearts when the life of another has been sacrificed by their own hands ?

Peace- is it a dream. or do i call it a "utopian concept" just left to be read in textbooks and hearing it in farcical newspapers, at instances when terror strikes..?
why can't it be achieved now, here, at present ??

It was him ...

He looked at me,
and I looked at him..
knowingly i smiled,
and he returned the gesture
-made me feel like a queen
among my girl friends,
'coz the smile was an exclusive one,
the only one for me
An inner strength, and a blush
had enveloped me like air
an overwhelming rush of blood
a breath so deep and fierce;
I was looking at him, and I looked away
knowing that he was looking still
I smiled a smile deep in my heart
- a secret one, just like his
I now sighed and looked at him
and saw him looking away now,
I was still enveloped in that blush and content
I decided to make him my vagabond !
May this love never be in vain,
and in his heart, I wish I always remain
forever young, forever beautiful, forever lovely
forever his love, forever his baby, forever pretty.
For now
every drop of my blood is soaked with that smile of his
And I prayerfully vow, to be his wife, to be forever his.

A poem on the life of a Youth..

Youth-
a period of affliction, a period of struggle
a period of change, a period of striving
Youth-
has its own charm and enjoyment
has its own despair and vengeance

Crying a tear, and wiping a tear
spurring myself to force a smile after I've cried;
Escaping from a situation, in a fear that nobody sees me crying;
I have my hopes and I have my dreams
Both at the crossroads, as it seems
I cannot see through the haze around me
Unsure as to what i shall get more out of this life
I did not have the wisdom to judge what was wrong
I never saw betrayal coming
-until it finally reared its pointed fangs
And then I cried and wetted my eye
my heart became heavy, and I could not stop myself

I cried a tear, a two, a three
and ceasing my heart's content
I wiped my last tear
and spurred myself towards something deep-
It was a recognition, a determination,
an eye opener, an experience
that made me take a recluse so fierce
and my heart sighed so deep;

Some moments of silence it took
for me to realize what was right for me
And, some moments of resurrection it took
for me to know what was 'I' to me.
And now i know, what the truth is
or rather I should say, what it had so been
Only I, myself was into that oblivion
-ignorant of what everything could have seemed

And now I know what lies above and beneath
of all the truth and lies I've faced
My heart, still burning with a passionate flame
has finally witnessed what life has showcased.
